
Pool Operator Courses
RFABC’s Pool courses provide experience for those involved or wishing to be involved in swimming pool operations. The training meets the requirements as outlined by the Provincial Health Authority. The Pool 2 Certificate is recognized by the BC Ministry of Health and Municipalities in B.C.

Register for this CourseThis course provides in-class and hands-on experience for those involved or wishing to be involved in swimming pool operations. In the municipal aquatics field and private sector, this course meets the requirements, as outlined by the Provincial Health Authority for meeting the minimum Health Act training requirement.
Topics include water circulation equipment, pool volume calculations, basic chlorine chemistry, Langlier Saturation Index, water balance, water testing, safe handling and storage of pool chemicals. Participants should bring a calculator to class. The course fee includes a manual.

Register for this CourseThis two-day pool program introduces advanced principles in swimming pool operations. The students deal with more complex pool problems and learn the skills to solve them. Topics include problem-solving, advanced chemistry, energy conservation, troubleshooting, new technology, risk management and program maintenance systems. Time will be spent on the current Health Regulations and how they impact pool operations, including the Pool Safety Plan.
For people who have completed Pool Safety plans, time will be available for discussion of the plans. Successful candidates completing a written exam will receive a Level 2 Pool Operator Certificate.
This certificate is recognized by the BC Ministry of Health and Municipalities in B.C. Students must have completed RFABC Pool Op 1 or equivalent (eg. BCRPA), prior to taking PO2.
