Building Service Worker Courses

Check out these RFABC courses designed to hone your skills in the custodial field. Completing these courses successfully will earn you certifications that are either prerequisites or preferred qualifications for employment with many school boards, colleges, recreation centers, and institutions. Registration Fee:Member Rate: $380 | Non-Member Rate: $450

This course is an introduction to the skills required to work in the building service custodial field. Upon successful completion of the course, including written and skills demonstration exams, the student is issued a BSW 1 certificate. Students must be proficient in written/verbal English.

This certificate is a prerequisite or preferred qualification for employment for many school boards, colleges, recreation centres and institutions.

Recreation and sport surfaces present a facility operator with an array of challenges. Floors can be highly technical or built to withstand heavy traffic.

The BSW 2 course focuses on hard floor care over the 2 days. The class will mop, scrub, and lay floor finish. Approximately 60% classroom instruction and 40% hands-on practice.

Students receive a manual for future reference.

  • Pads and Brushes·
  • Maintenance Cycles·
  • Routine and Periodic Care·

  • Floor Finish Application·
  • Hands-On Practical Training
