We invite you to share your knowledge and experience at the 2027 RFABC Annual Conference & Trade Show, taking place April 26–29, 2027, at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo, BC.

Recreation facilities are more than buildings—they’re places where communities gather, connect, grow and belong. Behind every arena, pool, park and recreation centre are dedicated professionals whose work makes a lasting impact.
This year’s conference celebrates the people, ideas and partnerships that strengthen our communities and help shape the future of recreation.
We Want to Hear From You
We’re looking for engaging, practical and thought-provoking presentations across four educational streams:
- Arena Operations
- Aquatic Operations
- Facility Leadership
- Programs & Services
Whether you have an innovative project to share, an operational best practice, a leadership strategy, a new approach or lessons learned from the field, we want to hear from you.
Our delegates value real-world experience, practical takeaways and ideas they can bring back to their own facilities and communities.
What We’re Looking For
RFABC is committed to providing high-quality educational experiences for our conference delegates. Presentations should:
- Provide educational value: Sessions should inform, inspire or engage attendees and should not include sales pitches or promotional content.
- Be relevant: Presentations should align with one or more of our conference streams and the needs of recreation professionals.
- Fit the session format: Each presentation is one hour, including time for questions and discussion.
- Be prepared: Presenters should arrive at least 15 minutes before their session and communicate any AV requirements to the Conference Committee in advance.
